Custom veiling allows you to have a veil that directly complements your ensemble and suits your preference for length, fullness, and positioning.
Lace-edged Willow Bridal veils are made with laces of superior quality, all hand-sewn for maximum softness and drape. When the design of the lace is directional, the pattern is cut and applied to ‘mirror’ each side of the veil.
If you are considering a blusher, Willow Bridal offers several options so that you can gracefully include this traditional touch in your ceremony.
Keep in mind that a veil can provide your photographer with a number of dramatic opportunities: swept over you and your groom for a discreet kiss, draped across one shoulder in a portrait , held out from the body in a backlit silhouette, a filmy covering for demure lowered lids. . . many possibilities.
Style Note: Mantilla veils are an especially pretty choice for petite brides.
Willow Bridal crowns and wreaths can include silk flowers with beaded stamens, Swarovski crystals, freshwater pearls, jeweled charms, rhinestone bands, decorative chains, and feather sprays. A braiding of gold, silver, or bronze wire forms the base for the crowns. The wreath with feather spray, (completed in a beautiful blush/nude color) has a frame wrapped in tulle and seed-beads. Delicate design, depth of detail and fine workmanship create whimsical, lovely pieces that will transform you into a Venetian princess, a woodland nymph, or a bohemian lovely.
A coordinating veil, with elements echoing those in your crown or wreath, is an additional option at Willow Bridal.
Style note: crowns and wreaths work especially well for brides who would like to wear their hair down on their wedding day.
Demi-caps gorgeously combine rhinestones, glass pearls, lace, silk flowers, and feathers for a statement look that will beautifully set off your hair and make-up. Some demi-caps incorporate silk dupionni flowers in romantic colors to further enhance the femininity of these adornments.
The edge elements of all demi-caps are softly wired and can be bent to conform closely to the head or upward to add depth to the design. The demi-caps are attached to wire combs which allow the piece to be easily secured in a variety of positions; for example, over the forehead, off to one side, or spanning the crown (the traditional position of the Juliette cap). The underside of all demi-caps has a lace or silk lining as the final couture touch.
A custom demi-cap can be created with a varying degree of embellishment and can incorporate elements that perfectly complement your gown.
Willow Bridal headbands come in a wide variety of styles and can feature flowers, beading, feathers, or all three! Our headbands are tightly wrapped with tulle so none of the base metal of the headband is visible. The only exceptions are silver or gold headbands formed with a delicate round wire and finished off with a tiny ball finial.
Multiple strands of shimmer or crushed tulle—light enough to catch the slightest breeze or to flutter in the air as you move—accent the side decoration of some headbands. Crystals, pearls, or metallic beads are hand-wired around the bands; these are then clustered and added to the side decoration along with coque, hackle or marabou feathers to complete the design.
Headbands created with silk ribbon and high quality rhinestone trim (meaning the clearest, sharpest sparkle) are also available in a variety of styles and can beautifully complete the look for many brides.
Style Note: Headbands are a pretty choice for brides with short hair.
These petite adornments are made with small silk flowers, touches of sparkle, bits of lace, a few inches of ribbon, and just a whisper of feathers. Their charming ‘thrown together’ look belies the care that goes into all Willow Bridal designs.
Whether you use one willow-the-wisp, a pair, or even a scattering of three, artfully placed they can provide just the right accent notes to your hairstyle.
Willow-the-wisps are approximately 1- 2 inches in diameter (exclusive of feather sprays).
An aura of glamorous mystique is instantly evoked by the bride who dons a birdcage veil. The veil can be designed to dip over one eye or to fall just beneath the nose or chin. This veiling looks most graceful when it floats just in front of the face and arcs slightly inward at the hem. Achieving this requires planning as to the placement of the comb in the hairstyle, careful measurement of the veil length, and deft manipulation of the veil’s fullness. The bottom edge of a birdcage veil should be an unbroken line.
A birdcage veil looks lovely when combined with other embellishments such as silk flowers, lace, or rhinestone trim because they provide an attractive focal point where the veiling is sewn to the comb or headband. At Willow Bridal, Russian veiling (also known as French veiling) is available in white, ivory, and blush. Additional accents, such as rhinestones, pearls, chenille dots, or crystals are further options.
Evoking the femininity of a bygone era, Willow Bridal offers beautiful, vintage-inspired veils and hair adornments. The materials used in these designs include dramatic millinery flowers, fine silk netting, embroidered tulle, Rochelle lace, ostrich feathers, peacock feathers, and both natural and glass pearls.
A modern twist on the traditional tiara, these are an original Willow Bridal concept. The charm of sea glass mixes with sparkling crystals and freshwater or glass pearls to create adornments which are as lovely as they are unique.
Sea glass is available in bottle green, sky blue, softest pink, delicate peach, or frosted white. Sea glass tiaras can be made with either silver or gold tone wire.
A sea glass tiara would be a whimsical addition to the ensemble of a beach-bound bride. However, a winter bride might also be delighted to find that versions made with frosted white glass take on the look of ice when matched with aurora borealis crystals and glass pearls.
The swirling design of a rhinestone brooch is echoed by goose biot feathers, over-sized glass pearls in an asymmetrical placement manage to look both modern and vintage, clusters of crystals in a color which can only be described as 'silver shadow', faceted opaque glass beads form a fun (not formal) tiara--Willow Bridal pieces invite description.
Willow Bridal designs incorporate the finest materials: duchesse silk satin, silk organza, silk taffeta, silk mikado, silk velvet and silk habotai. Swarovski crystals, glass pearls, fresh water pearls, albino peacock feathers, and imported Alencon lace are also featured. The workmanship of these pieces does justice to the materials; for example, leaves, whether made of satin, organza, velvet, or lace are often wired (and then lined) to allow you to bend and position them to your own preference. All designs deftly balance multiple elements so that the overall effect has depth of detail but without fussiness.
Pieces are securely attached to a tulle-wrapped comb or an alligator clip. (Combs and clips have an advantage over headbands in that they allow the piece to be placed anywhere in the hairstyle.) However, some pieces are specifically designed to be worn on the left side (traditional) or at the crown of the head.
Combs in Collection I are more dramatic and combine more elements than combs in Collection II.
Combs in Collection II are smaller and simpler than those in Collection I (although larger than the willow-the-wisps).
Flowers are reminiscent of English roses, peonies, hydrangea blooms, and orchids. Accent elements include silk organza, lace, or rhinestone leaves; hackle and goose biot feathers; Russian veiling.
Bridal pieces are notable for the use of high quality materials and fine
workmanship. Many flowers are
hand-formed, petal by petal, using traditional millinery tools; leaves are softly wired and lined with lace for a clean finish; all are attached to a tulle wrapped comb.
Combs in this collection all feature flowers. (Is there anything prettier than a girl with flowers in her hair?). The stamens of Willow Bridal flowers are dimensional and are created by wiring pearls and crystals which are then wrapped with a circlet of tulle. Other design elements, such as ribbon or lace, are coordinated with an eye for proportion and texture.
Whether they be richly embellished or shabby chic, a beautiful belt or sash adds visual interest to your ensemble and emphasizes your waist.
Belts can be made to measure for a perfect fit. Sashes are made long enough to create a graceful bow while leaving ties to stream down even as far as the hem of your gown.
All beaded belts are neatly and securely hand sewn to quality ribbon; if needed, a light faux-suede backing is added for extra support. The beading on our belts runs the entire length of the belt, so the embellishment is visible from every angle. An exception to this is made when the final look would be more refined with the beading central to the front.
Flowers at the waist are as pretty as flowers in the hair and many Willow Bridal hair flowers can be transformed into a sash. Of course, being able to coordinate a belt with a possible veil or hair adornment is a feature of Willow Bridal services.
A tiara worn with a veil is such a timeless and beautiful way to complete your bridal ensemble. Tiaras complement a truly wide variety of dress and hair styles and are surprisingly comfortable to wear. The photos here represent only a small number of the selection available at Willow Bridal.
